“I feel alive when my imagination runs wild”

Karely, a Venezuelan mother of three children, considers that education is the opening to any place where a human being wants to go. “Everything unknown to me is a challenge; it’s something you have inside you that no one can take away.” One of her greatest passions is learning, and for this reason, she is always on the lookout for anything that piques her interest in learning. She tells us, “I feel alive when my imagination runs wild.” Karely is a Venezuelan architect with more than 10 years of experience, and her expertise has allowed her to see things from a different perspective, as she explains, “I see architecture in everything: clothes, jewelry, art. My eyes see things from different standpoints and I’m grateful for that.”

Karely has discovered a wonderful world in jewelry making, into which she has incorporated some of her architectural knowledge.“This is another of my passions, where I can do whatever my imagination tells me to do.” She is also dedicated to learning English and has been attending classes with Nichole, her tutor. “I came to Fox Valley Literacy because I needed to learn this language. My tutor Nichole and everyone else here has been a blessing. What better gift is there, than the ability to express yourself freely, or help you to improve your English skills to be able to communicate with another person?”
