Meet Ana!

Meet Ana!

Ana believes that it is important to look forward. When she left Venezuela to come to the United States, she left behind a career she loved, all of her extended family and even her dog, Pirulin. “More than half my heart is in Venezuela,” she says. Nevertheless, she is working hard at Fox Valley Literacy to improve her English so she can rebuild her life here. She wants to meet new people and to be able to use her business education to pick her career back up or to start a new one. When the pandemic ends, Ana would like to travel more, to different cities and to different countries.

Ana lives with her two daughters and works hard to pass on the values of her large family where care, love, and support for each other are most important. These values make her who she is, and she is very proud of that. She and her daughters have a lot of fun together too–on her days off, they dance and sing Karaoke. She says that even in the pandemic, she doesn’t need to leave her house to have fun!
